A Virginia toddler is alive today, thanks to some help from two little puppies. It all began last Friday, when three-year old Jaylynn, wandered off from his babysitter's house near the woods in Halifax County . Fortunately for him, he wasn't alone - with him were two little puppies that the babysitter owned.
in playing with the puppies, Jaylynn soon lost his bearings and went further and further away from the house without realizing it. Meanwhile, the babysitter had alerted the police, who along with friends, family and strangers who wanted to help, started to painstakingly search the area.
The biggest fear Jaylynn's parents had was that he would not be able to survive the freezing night temperatures, which can get as low as 17 degrees Fahrenheit at this time of the year.
Twenty-one hours later, just as the search party was beginning to feel a little hopeless, one of the search groups found Jaylynn, sitting by a tree, with the two puppies nestling against him. They refused to leave his side even when he was taken to the hospital to be examined.
Later over a meal of two cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, french fries and strawberry ice cream, Jaylynn told his mother Sarah Ingram, "Momma I got cold. I slept in the woods last night. The puppies kept me warm".
Janylynn is now safe at home. His parents are convinced that was it not for these cuties, his story would not have ended on such a happy note. What amazing, faithful little puppies!
