On February 17th, a few lucky fans of the epic movie, Titanic, got to re-live what it must have been like on that fateful day in 1912, when the giant passenger liner started to sink.
Ticket holders were required to dress in 1912 period costumes for the movie showing. Once there, they were given the option of watching the movie either lounging on lifeboats floating in a swimming pool filled with icebergs, or lie on the sides of the pool or on beach chairs placed around the area.
Then, in a mist-filled environment, armed with unlimited snacks and drinks, the patrons enjoyed the epic movie, shown on a large screen in High Definition.
As the movie progressed, the dressed-up actors and actresses were encouraged to immerse themselves in the experience as much as they could - including emulating the stars of the movie - Kate Winslet and Leonardo di Caprio.
The free event, held at a local swimming pool in London , was organized by SKY Television to kick-off the celebrations leading to the 81st Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on February 22th. The organizers believed the fans would be able to feel they were part of the movie, if they watched it in a setting like this - Judging from the pictures it sure looks as though they did!
