If you are among the millions of people that love the quirky, yet useful inventions that always seem to show up in the Wallace and Gromit movies, you will not want to miss 'Wallace and Gromit present a World of Cracking Ideas', an interactive exhibition currently going on at London's Science Museum.
The $2.8mm USD exhibition, is essentially a re-creation of the entire world of the absent-minded inventor and his intelligent beagle, starting with a life-sized gate in front of the beautifully maintained garden that leads into 62 West Wallaby Street.
Walk in and you will be transported to their world, complete with the crazy machines, including the Tellyscope 11, the Piella Propellor and best of all, the Blend-O-Matic! Also present are the giant cabbages, crafty rabbits, the entire research library on cheese and a fully stocked kitchen.
Visitors can view a sketchbook of Wallace's inventions, including the infamous one of 'waking people from their beds'. Scenes from the sets of the movies populate the entire area, giving visitors the feeling that they themselves are starring in the movie.
Developed by Aardman Animation in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Office and the Science Museum, the main aim of the exhibition is to encourage children and adults to be innovative and experiment with new ideas in a playful environment. Accordingly, 'idea stations' have been set up throughout the exhibition, to encourage kids to come up with their own inventions.
This fun exhibition which started on March 28th will be open until November 1st - Something to consider, as you firm up those Summer vacation plans!
