Is your pooch cramped and uncomfortable in the car? Is having to jump in and out hurting its back? Does it need privacy? Then you will be delighted to hear that car manufacturers Honda and Toyota are introducing 2009 models that will revolutionize the car ride for your pampered canine.
The dog friendly version of the Honda Element, which will debut at the International car show in New York later this week, is being described as a 'Rolling Ritz-Carlton' for dogs. The car has a built-in-bed in the booth, so your dog can snooze after that long run, an electric fan, for those hot summer days and something owners will appreciate - a spill-proof water bowl. if this isn't enough, a wire-mesh net will give your pet the privacy it needs and to complete the cozy set-up - Honda will even throw in rubber floor mats, embellished with dog-bones!
Not to be left behind, Toyota is coming out with its own dog-friendly 2009 Venza, which among other things will offer waterproof hammock style seat covers, a booster seat with a seat belt, a ramp to make it easier for the pet to climb in and out of the rear and a dog leash tether, that will keep the dog from jumping out of the car or onto the owner's lap.
Somehow, we get the feeling that if it is up to the dogs, the Honda Element is the winner.... hands-down! What do you think? Be sure to write your comments below.
