Earlier this year, Kalamazoo High School beat out 1000 public schools in the Race to the top Challenge, and won the honor of becoming the first high school in the country, to have the President of the United States speak at its graduation ceremony.
True to his word, President Obama showed up last week, with a speech that was sure to inspire not only Kalamazoo's 1,700 students, but also, young people all over the country - And he was right. Most of the students listened mesmerized as one the country's greatest orators gave them his pearls of wisdom - except for one poor soul, who was so soothed by the President's voice that he . . . . . fell asleep. He did however wake up and clap quite enthusiastically, when the President was done.
The young choir singer's big yawns and short snooze would have probably gone unnoticed, had he not been sitting in a plum media spot - right behind the Prez! Not surprisingly, this has become one of President Obama's most popular speeches to date!
As for the young lad - He has become star in his own right and has inspired a Facebook group called 'the guy sleeping behind President Obama', which at last count had 11,425 fans!
