One of the most frustrating things for avid surfers has to be having to head home after the sun sets, especially, if the waves are just starting to roll in. Now, a Southern California man has come up with a unique solution - A surfboard with headlights!

Night Stalker is the brainchild of Bill Stewart, an avid surfer and owner of Stewart Surfboards in San Clemente, California. The first shortboard designed to specifically allow for comfortable night surfing, it comes equipped with LED lights embedded inside the side fins and two 700 Lumen, (lights that provide the output of 70 watt bulbs, but use only 12 watts of power), headlights placed inside the board's plexiglass nose. Powered by rechargeable batteries, the lights are designed to not only adjust to view the water whilst paddling, but also, look out past the lineup and monitor the waves.

Mr. Stewart hopes to try out his one-of-a-kind board off the coast of San Clemente on August 9th, after which he will take it to Billabong's 'Art Of Shaping' - a competition for surfboard makers scheduled to be held on August 13th &14th at the San Diego Convention Center. Whilst there, he hopes to auction the unique board to the highest bidder and donate the proceeds to charity.

We have a sneaky feeling that once avid surfers get a whiff of the new board, they will be stalking Stewart Surfboards for their very own Night Stalker.
