If you always wanted to see for yourself what it would feel like to be inside Harry Potter's magical world, you are in luck. For starting March 2012, you and all the fans of the wizarding world will be able to walk through the actual sets where a decade of magic was created, thanks to the new 'Making of Harry Potter' Studio in Watford, England.
The 150,000 square foot studio, currently under construction inside two large old aircraft hanger buildings, is being created with the actual sets where the eight movies were filmed, right down to the tiles - All brought in, from the original studio that lies 20 miles northwest of London.
Just as in the book series, the tour begins with a visit to 4 Privet Drive, where fans will be treated to the actual stairs and tiny cupboard that served as Harry's first bedroom. From there, they will head to a 120-seat theater for a short film featuring some of the most famous scenes, as well as, interviews with the stars talking about their experiences, whilst filming the epic movies.
Upon exiting the theater, fans will encounter the famous Great Hall of Hogwarts, complete with the flagstone floor, Gothic arches, gargoyles and huge fireplaces. To reenact the many scrumptious meals Harry and his friends gulped their way through, the long table will be laid out with cutlery, plates and jugs, as well as, faux Boar heads. Any guest trying to snag themselves a memento or two, will be in for a really embarrassing moment - Thanks to the alarm that will trigger a real-life admonishing 'Howler'. Though there will be no live teachers, their costumes will be prominently featured inside the hall, as will the Hogwarts house points system.
Then, fans will be ushered into a Hogwarts classroom, the Gryffindor common room, Harry's dormitory and finally to the door leading to Professor Dumbledore's impressive office. Peek inside and you will feel like you walked into the movie (set) thanks to the details, which include the Professor's huge brass telescope and bookshelf, complete with books. Dumbledore's open desk drawer will reveal magical parchments and letters penned with a quill.
With the school tour complete, visitors will walk into the Weasley kitchen, where they will encounter the family's magical gadgets that include a pair of enchanted knitting needles, a self-cleaning saucepan and many other fun things. Scattered around the studio are many more movie memorabilia including Hagrid's 'flying' motorbike, part of the Floo network, tapestries that adorned the Black family home, the streets of Hogsmeade, and, the lists goes on and on.
The best part is that most of the studio tour is self-guided, which means that visitors can spend as much time as they wish, lingering over their favorite Harry Potter memories. Also, tickets to the studio will be sold in advance and be limited to a finite group of daily visitors, allowing for an unforgettable experience.
