On June 26th, French artist/entertainer Jean-Pierre Blanchard, stunned the guests that had gathered for the annual Swiss Venture Award ceremony in Zurich, by painting a portrait of tennis superstar Roger Federer in four short minutes. What's even more amazing, is that he did it entirely from memory.
This is not the first time the artist has given his audience a super-quick art tutorial - In the past, he has created equally stunning quick paintings of many famous celebrities and public figures including Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and even, Harry Potter. However, this is the first time he has been commissioned to draw Roger Federer, who he says was easy, given the athlete's strong distinguished features.
After captivating the audience with his performance, the artist auctioned the painting for 16,000 Swiss Francs (about $20,000) and donated the proceeds to The Roger Federer Foundation, a charity that supports children in Africa. What a productive way to spend four minutes.
