Today, July 4th, 2011 marks to big birthday celebrations - the 235th birthday of the United States of America and, the 13th birthday of first daughter Malia Obama - the first teen to live in the White House since Chelsea Clinton was there, about a decade ago.
So what celebrations are in store for the two important White House events? While the details of the first are well publicized, the second celebration is one, we can only speculate about.
Malia's day started pretty much like it has for the last two years. After spending most of the long weekend at their summer retreat in Camp David, the first family flew down to Washington D.C. to host the annual July 4th party for administration officials, more than 1,200 military heroes and their families and, other guests.
In addition to a scrumptious barbeque, the celebrations will also include an hour-long concert, which will feature among others - recording artist Amos Lee and San Francisco rock band, Train. Following that the guests will be treated to some spectacular fireworks. Somewhere in between, there is bound to be a special cake snuck in for the first daughter.
While there are no other details about how Malia is going to celebrate this extra special birthday, younger sister, Sasha who turned double-digits on June 10th, took her friends for a sweet celebration at none other than Washington D.C.'s gourmet cupcake destination - Georgetown Cupcakes! We have a feeling Malia will do something equally sweet and special!
Happy July 4th to all of you and a very Happy Birthday to Malia and everyone else born on this special day!
