We all know that pets can be taught tricks - things like rolling over, shaking paws or fetching but . . . . can they be taught to surf? Goatee, a female goat living in California, sure can! She fearlessly shreds across waves on her surfboard alongside her owner, Dana McGregor.
Goatee was originally bought by Dana to help clear up un-wanted weeds around his garden. However, he fell in love with the young goat's pleasant disposition and decided to adopt her as a pet. The now two-year old and her owner soon became inseparable. He took her shopping, for his nights out and even to the beach. That's when Dana realized that the kid had an unusual talent - A natural knack for surfing.
Since then, the two have been a regular item at California's Pismo Beach and even gained celebrity status not only in California, but all over the world, thanks to all the Goatee surfing videos that Dana has posted on YouTube. Goatee also has her own Facebook page, where she lists her interests as surfing, playing soccer, eating greens, working, hanging out and going everywhere with Dana.
Dana, who treats Goatee more like a human friend than a pet, is extremely proud of the goat's surfing talent and even more proud of the fact that all this fame doesn't seem to have gotten to Goatee's head -Yet!
